More often than not, it’s the pet parent who needs training, not the pet.
I inadvertently taught my lab to jump on guests by saying“down, down!” and then giving him a treat when he stopped jumping. In his mind, “jump, down, treat” has been forever linked as the pattern that…

Excellent dog training classes. All positive reinforcement
To those of you signed up for Sunday's seminar, Understanding Canine
Aggression with Ken McCort, we are looking forward to seeing you
there. All others, there is still time to register, it is going to be
a great event http://www.posidog.com/uca
Workshops coming up in September include It's All Tricks on September
12th; Get It! Using Tug as an Obedience Reward on September 19th; and
Competition Obedience: Precision Training for the Ring on September
26th. See our Events Page http://www.posidog.com/events
for more information, and for October events to be announced soon.
There are some exciting new classes at PosiDog. We've added an
Advanced Agility class to the schedule, and an intensive
Heeling/Loose-Leash Walking class that is appropriate for all levels.
Organized as a semi-private class, training plans are individualized
and the curriculum is based on your goals
http://www.posidog.com/schedule
for all our current classes.
For dogs who are unable to attend regular agility class because they
cannot be off-leash around other dogs (or cannot risk other dogs
getting "in their face") we have developed an On-Leash Agility
program. In a small group, and making extensive use of leashes,
long-lines, and visual barriers, we can create a more comfortable
environment while still having a blast with the agility obstacles and
exercises http://www.posidog.com/agility-leash
We hope to see some LRR graduates in this class :)
Leash Reactivity Rehab continues to be one of our very favorite
classes, and is designed specially for dogs who would like to learn to
be more at ease around other dogs. If your dog is lunging and barking
at other dogs on leash, please call us to discuss this program
