For all pet parents!
Is it ok to give table scraps to pets? There are as many answers to this question as there are food groups. For instance, I give my dogs carrots sometimes instead of treats. But others say absolutely no “people food.”
What I DON’T do is give them anything from the table. Dogs have a bionic memory, and my lab never forgets. He often tries to get guest to give him a nibble from the table and I have to warn them not to succumb to his charm.
There are also foods that can be dangerous to pets. Bones and chocolate are just two foods that can be harmful to pets. Remember to make sure your garbage is secure, too, so your pets don't help themselves to a buffet of leftovers.
Others allow their pets to eat what they eat, and clean up the leftovers as a special treat.
